Event Details
SEAPaddle NYC will start at 9:00am on Monday the 18th of August with an anticipated 100-150 participants starting the 28 mile journey near the South Street seaport at Pier 17.The paddle route will continue up the East River past the UN building into the Harlem River, then down the Hudson River, ending at Battery Park City North Cove Marina. Last year’s event drew 50 participants from as far away as Austria, England, Maui, California, Oregon, Florida and Oahu. This year a broader international presence will be included with professional surfers mixing with music personalities, actors and environmental activists. The “feel good” paddle event is not a race.
Due to the invitational nature of this event we are regulated not to exceed a certain small amount of participants. To participate you need to be in excellent physical condition, have participated in past endurance type events and be a Surfers' Environmental Alliance member. A selection will be made at the total discretion of SEA.

Viewing & Press opportunities- NYC is the epicenter for media broadcasting. Promotion and sponsor opportunities are boundless as this thriving metropolis provides the perfect backdrop to host this event. In 2007, both media coverage and in person viewing were very high, with several nightly TV news pick-ups, syndicated feature articles and magazine coverage. It is estimated that over 300,000 people saw and noted the event in person, and coverage reached another 3,000,000.
