2010 Fundraiser
The 4th Annual SEAPaddle NYC Event and White Water Evening is an opportunity to bring awareness and funding for SEA’s environmental projects and Eight Autism charities.
Andrew Mencinsky, SEA executive director and world-renowned waterman and SEA ambassador Darrick Doerner, conceived the first event in 2007.
Last year's event was attended by 300 guests who came to rub elbows with paddle participants and supporters such as legendary surfers Gerry Lopez, Izzy Paskowitz, Garrett McNamara, David Chokachi and Joel Tudor. These participants two days later paddled (with roughly 130 other paddlers) the 28 miles around Manhattan Island and raised nearly $250,000 in the process.
In 2010, it is SEA and the Autism charities’ goal to raise $300,000 in donations and corporate sponsorships. 50% of net revenue from these events is split between Autism Beneficiaries and SEA. Several volunteer committees and board members of SEA coordinate the events. Thank you for your support.

Surfer's Environmental Alliance is committed to the preservation and protection of the environmental and cultural elements that are inherent to the sport of surfing. Our goals are achieved through grassroots activism, community involvement, and education and humanitarian efforts.
We engage in projects that strive to conserve the quality of our marine environment, preserve or enhance surf breaks, protect beach access rights, and safeguard the coastal surf zone from unnecessary development.
